Our Centres

CEHAT

CEHAT

Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT) was started in 1994 as a Research Centre of the Anusandhan Trust. CEHAT began as an experiment to bridge the gap between academic theory and grassroots practice.

As a health research institution, CEHAT is not a conventional “people’s organisation,” and does not pretend to be so. But its identification with people’s movements and organisations is more in terms of selecting socially relevant, pro-people themes and topics for research to strengthen people’s health movement and to realise the right to health and health care. Our research is not undertaken with mere academic interests, rather we take efforts to share the findings with grassroots organisations and make the research findings usable for social change, campaigns and advocacy. SATHI

SATHI

SATHI (Support to Advocacy and Training to Health Initiatives) – The Pune-based centre of Anusandhan Trust works on issues related to health rights, and facilitates interventions at the local, district, state and national levels. Adopting a rights-based approach, SATHI works towards promoting the perspective that makes these systems accountable and responsive to public needs, through organized and sustained public action with a goal to promote sustainable and impactful health-related community-level action in underprivileged rural/tribal, and urban areas across Maharashtra, towards ensuring healthy communities.

Our approach is centred on building connections between frontline workers, primary healthcare institutions, and marginalised communities. Our work focuses on promoting healthcare for all, with a special emphasis on marginalised communities and agenda of strengthening the public health system and primary healthcare. To achieve this goal, we leverage our health system expertise to improve access and delivery of public health services in both rural and urban areas. Know More – www.sathicehat.org
